 Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace in London is the official residence of King Charles III. This iconic palace, a true symbol of the British monarchy, attracts millions of visitors each year. Changing of the Guard, palace tours, royal events…

Built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham, Buckingham House was initially a very attractive manor house. This private residence was later purchased by King George III, who transformed and enlarged it. Buckingham Palace became the principal residence of the British monarchs in 1837. Queen Victoria was, in fact, the first to move in.

Today, Buckingham Palace is more than just a palace: it is a symbol of British history, a place where major events such as state visits, official ceremonies, and the famous royal appearances on the balcony take place.

King Charles and Camilla are not the only ones who live in this 200,000 m² residence. Approximately 800 staff members are housed there. They ensure the upkeep and smooth running of the palace. It has 775 rooms, including 19 state rooms, 52 royal suites and guest rooms, 92 offices, 188 staff bedrooms, and 78 bathrooms. Buckingham Palace boasts nearly 760 windows and 1,514 magnificent doors. The Buckingham Palace estate covers more than 15 hectares.
