Nestled in the hollow of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, Grimaud is like the tower of its castle which stands proudly above the plains and the sea, like an immutable lookout having crossed the centuries. Looking to the future but rich in a perfectly preserved heritage, Grimaud is a territory that plays the big part with time, to make a tasty mix between the old and the modern.
Up there, the medieval village awaits you with its many monuments, cobbled streets, houses with arcades, old stones and medieval castle. Walk the streets at your own pace, in these places with a long history, look up to discover these typically Provençal village houses. From the Middle Ages, the importance and wealth of Grimaud made it the capital of Freinet, a territory covering the current Community of Commune of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Once you arrive at the ruins of this castle you will be rewarded with a sublime view! Visit not recommended for people who have difficulty walking.
