IN 1863, THE PARIS-LYON-MÉDITERRANÉE COMPANY COMPLETED THE LES ARCS - CAGNES-SUR-MER SECTION.
IT IS THE PROXIMITY OF THE SITE TO THE RAILWAY THAT ENABLES THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE QUARRY AND THE TRANSPORT OF MATERIALS.
The Les Arcs - Cagnes-sur-Mer section was completed in
3 years, requiring a large workforce. THE
work carried out from Saint-Raphaël to Cannes required
the employment of stonemasons for the construction of
viaducts and bridges, and miners to dig the trenches
and tunnels.
The connection with the large section track of the
Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée company exists in 1883.
Sidings are made by branches
over a length of 500 meters, at this very location.
The Dramont district will have to wait until 1965 for a
railway stop is established, after the disappearance of the
private station of the Quarry Company.
Rail transport was reserved for ballast and
porphyry blocks. The railway could cover
the Mediterranean coast and the interior of the territory.
A wagon could contain a load of 10 tons.
